The earlier sequel to this game was, “Baldur’s Gate II: Throne of Bhaal”. The recent entry into the “Dungeons and Dragons Baldur’s Gate series” is “Baldur gate III”. This video game is considered to be a pleasant role-playing game, which involves tricks that players must stay familiar with. If there is one game series that has reached more than a million downloads, then it has to be the Baldur series. That said has anyone played both the switch AND iPad versions specifically that can comment on which they prefer?Taking note of the plot of Baldur’s Gate III: A game for hardcore gamers! My understanding is that the port has a new control scheme for the switch that has been very well received by folks that have played the PC version. iPad/Android versions 100% recommended over Switch, and they're usually cheaper with regular sales anyway. I played maybe five hours on switch before giving up and buying the Android tablet version on sale for $5, and played easily 30+ hours traveling and on vacation on that one. In handheld you have to make the fonts so big dialogue boxes take up half the screen and you end up zooming in on characters to see what the hell is going on. Lastly, and most importantly, you pretty much have to play the Switch version docked on a big tv screen, because the handheld screen is just way, way too small for that high isometric view and so much text to read. While they did the best they could with clever selection wheels via the triggers, Switch controls are still very cumbersome and directly walking your guys around with the joystick is the only benefit.Įverything about the game and it's menu's were designed for mouse and keyboard, and a tablet touchscreen is just so so much easier to quickly navigate and issue commands just like a mouse, pinch to zoom in and out, use inventories, click and drag boxes around parts of your group, etc. I've played the Switch and Android versions, and STRONGLY prefer the tablet versions, vastly beats Switch for both controls and screen size.
